Presentation Press Conference at Rally Village

Republic of San Marino. The opening of the Rally Village marks the official start of Rallylegend, edition number twenty, which has recorded since yesterday great excitement among fans, coming in large numbers.

PRESENTATION PRESS CONFERENCE WITH KALLE ROVANPERA, JARI-MATTI LATVALA AND MIKI BIASION

Great participation of Media from various parts of the world and of the public at the press conference for the presentation of Rallylegend 2022, in the early afternoon of today, Thursday 13th October. The conference was opened by Teodoro Lonfernini, Secretary of State for Sport and Work, and Federico Pedini Amati, Secretary of State for Tourism, representing the Government of the Republic of San Marino, Paolo Valli and Vito Piarulli Rallylegend Organizers, Mauro Zambelli, Clerk of the course and with the help of the “guest stars” Kalle Rovanpera, world rally champion 2022, Jari-Matti Latvala, Team Principal Toyota Gazoo WRT, Miki Biasion, two times world rally champion, Markku Alen and Ilkka Kivimaki, legendary official Lancia and Fiat crew, the entire Rallylegend 2022 event, its development and main events were illustrated. The importance of the twenty editions milestone was underlined, celebrated with a Rallylegend that shows dream cars, legendary champions of yesterday and today and with a record-breaking audience. Teodoro Lonfernini: “I bring the greetings of the entire Government of the Republic of San Marino to the fans and legends that have made the history of Rallylegend. Twenty years of the event represent many adventures, all of them beautiful. Thanks to Paolo Valli and Vito Piarulli for making this a major event, an excellence in terms of organization and participation. This anniversary represents for me great joy and happiness that we will all experience from today until Sunday. Thanks also to the sponsors, their presence witnesses the past, present and future of Rallylegend’. Federico Pedini Amati: “Paolo Valli and Vito Piarulli above all have rendered an incredible service in San Marino, Rally Legend is the most important sporting event that our territory hosts. Twenty years is an important milestone, I am satisfied and I consider myself lucky to experience this Rallylegend from within, as an institution. Welcome to all guests, thanks to the organizers!”. Great evidence was given to the important impact of international and economic promotion of the territory, with many tens of thousands of spectators from all over the world present. Paolo Valli and Vito Piarulli described the approach to this edition of Rallylegend, with a thrilling list of big names present. The only absence is that of Walter Rohrl, with the German champion unable to take part for personal reasons. There will be instead Christian Geistdorfer, historical Rohrl’s co-driver, who will take part to the 40th Lancia 037.

A roar of applause greeted the intervention of the young world champion Kalle Rovanpera, who said he was happy to be at Rallylegend, an event about which his Team Principal Jari-Matti Latvala, already twice among the top driver in recent years, spoke to him enthusiastically. Latvala himself is happy to be back at Rallylegend, where he had been as an official Volkswagen Motorsport drive

Great welcome also for Miki Biasion, Markku Alen and Ilkka Kivimaki. Carlo Boroli announced “Best Impreza”, the project that will be presented at Rallylegend, together with Hollie McRae, daughter of the unforgettable Colin and guest of honor of the event.

Carlo Falcone, founder of the Antigua Legend Cup, celebrated the tenth anniversary of the collaboration with Rallylegend.

Niccolò Bellazzini, Sparco Brand Manager, one of the main sponsors of Rallylegend, also attended the Press Conference, and explained the meaning and contents of the presence of the prestigious partner at Rallylegend.

OPENING PARTY FOR RALLYLEGEND VIP AT SAN MARINO OULET EXPERIENCE

Today, Thursday 13^TH, saw the Opening Party at the San Marino Outlet Experience, a place with an innovative and refined design, hosting prestigious national and international fashion brands, as well as a selection of high-level bars and restaurants, who wanted to welcome Rallylegend and its protagonists. Eight of the most important cars competing at Rallylegend made a fine show of themselves, with some of the most important drivers coming to greet the prestigious partner San Marino Outlet Experience among the main sponsors of Rallylegend.

THE CHARITY PROJECT BY RACHELE SOMASCHINI AT RALLYLEGEND

The one made by Rachele Somaschini and Daiana Darderi, competing with a Citroen C3 R5, is the only female crew competing at Rallylegend 2022. In addition, Rachele Somaschini brings her charity project #CorrePerUnRespiro to Rallylegend, intended to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation (FFC), a genetic disease affecting her since her birth. To support the project, a dedicated desk will be present at Rally Village, at Rachele’s stand, starting from Friday 14^th October, where you can choose many RS Team charity gadgets, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Foundation.

RALLYLEGEND PROGRAM: THE RALLY STARTS WITH “EBERHARD TIME CHALLENGE”.

The rally, within Rallylegend 2022, will start tonight Thursday 13^TH October at 20.30, with the new “Eberhard Time Challenge”, an event reserved for all competitors competing in the “Historic”, “WRC”, “Classic” and “Legend Stars” races of the 20th Rallyegend. The “Eberhard Time Challenge” includes two timed sectors (sector 1 and sector 2), near the Rally Village (Strada La Ciarulla / Galazzano), connected by a transfer sector on an open road with a maximum speed of 50 km/h allowed. There is only one general classification, with relative class classifications, including all the cars admitted to the 20th Rallylegend, with the exception of Legend Stars cars.  In addition to the prizes offered by Eberhard & Co, the winner of each class will have a bonus of 7 seconds, the second classified 5 seconds and the third classified 3 seconds, which will be applied to the final time of the first day of competition.

The actual rally will then start from Rally Village on Friday 14^th October at 19.00, a stage that involves two laps on the S.S. I Laghi and two on the P.S. San Marino, with a suggestive Regrouping in the Historic Center of San Marino.

It continues on Saturday 15th October, starting from the Village at 1.30 pm, with a loop of three special stages to be repeated twice: La Casa (km.9,580), Piandavello (km. 6.33) and The Legend (km. 4.380), with the Regrouping at San Marino Stadium.

It will close on Sunday 16^th October, with two passages on the special stage “Le Tane” (4.01 km) and two on The Legend (4.380 km), with Regrouping in Borgo Maggiore.

Final arrival at Rallylegend Village at 2.30pm.
